19世紀後半から芸術家たちが集まるようになったモンマルトル地区。サクレクール寺院横にあるテルトル広場では毎日多くの絵描きがイーゼルを立てて絵を売っている。パリに縁のあるユトリロ、ロートレック、モネ、ゴッホ、ローランサン、セザンヌ、モロー、ピカソ、ダリ、佐伯祐三、ルノワール、モジリアニ、シャガール、藤田嗣治、マチス、バラドンなどの画家を大集合させた。

Montmartre has become the area where many artists gather since the latter half of 9th century. In the Place du Tertre, next to the Basilique de Sacre Coeur, there are a number of painters setting an easel and selling their pictures every day. There were also a number of great artists who were related to Paris such as Utrillo, Lautrec, Monet, Gogh, Laurencin, Cezanne, Moreau, Picasso, Dali, Yuzo Saeki, Renoir, Modigliani, Chagall, Tsuguharu Foujita, Matisse, Valadon.
