Since Copying Mona Lisa

oil painting
F200号 (H193.9cm × W259.1cm)
While copying Mona Lisa at the Louvre Museum, I felt that the woman in the picture must be Da Vinci’s mother and the scenery must be Vinci Village. Through the experience, I realized that I should draw my mother and my country (Japan) rather than Paris. After returning to Japan, I have been drawing pictures mainly for Dokuritsu Exhibition about people, festivals and customs which are very close to me. Thank to these works, I have won various prizes and have held private exhibitions in Japan and even overseas. To commemorate the 80th Dokuritsu Exhibition and publishing my original art book, I provided this picture as the compilation of my work for 40 years since copying Mona Lisa.
